What we do
- We monitor the right to education. We do this by continuously mapping the level of implementation of the right to education for LGBTI students through a policy checklist and several types of surveys. We do this together with local GALE Committees and other local partners. We continuously update the GALE World Map with the results. We regularly publish a new pdf version of the map and a country scoring list. Read more about monitoring the right to education »>
- We offer workshops and training. We offer facilitation of national strategic workshops in which authorities, the education sector and LGBTI activists cooperate on high impact policies. We offer training to teachers and volunteers who do peer education.
- We collect, describe and disseminate good practices. We follow and spread news through our members journal GALE Update and our open journal LGBT Education. We collect and describe a broad range of interventions and make them available through our database.
- We develop best practice toolkits. We have developed a School Change Toolkit, an Advocacy Guide, a GALE Right to Education Monitoring guide and we are working on a GALE Committee Guide, a High Impact School Intervention Toolkit and a Peer Education Toolkit.
- We take part in projects. Since GALE does not have regular income, we develop the aforementioned activities mostly through a series of projects. In the next paragraph you will find an overview of current and completed projects. [Read more if you want to engage with GALE in a project|en/foundation/cooperation
