Erasmus+ funding
School staff and peer educators can get support for travel, stay and course fees from the Erasmus+ programme of the EU.
Apply before March 17!
The upcoming deadline for applying for grants of the Erasmus+ programme is 17 March 2014. There is only one funding deadline per year. This deadline is for courses between summer 2014 and summer 2015.
Grants for organizations
The Key Action 1 (KA1) of the Erasmus+ program provides grants to organizations that want to send one or more staff members abroad on a course. This means that your organization needs to apply for a grant for one or a series of courses. For Erasmus+ funding it is strongly encouraged that your organization applies for a series of courses as this will enhance the organization's capacity building.
How to apply?
- Ask you chair or manager to apply on your behalf and also for other volunteers or staff who want to do courses.
- Check if there are other staff members or volunteers who want to do a course, and if yes, which ones. It is encouraged that the organization will apply for 2-5 members for one course as this will enhance the organizational implementation. Besides, organization members can be sent to different courses as this will build the organization's capacity. Make clear the course you apply for is always in another country than your own. The EU will fund most of the course fee, travel, accommodation and meals but you have to pay a very limited contribution yourself. Also check if your colleagues are willing to pay their own contribution or if your organization is willing to do so. Ask all willing staff members / volunteers to submit a note of interest, as soon as possible, as the final deadline to apply for funding (see point 7 below) is 17 March.
- We encourage you to search for complementary courses which will strengthen the total training package of your organization. In Dialogue provides trainings on management, guidance and pedagogics.
- Register your organization on the European Commission Authentication Service (ECAS), if not already registered.
- Log in to the Participant Portal with your ECAS account details and register your organization on the Unique Registration Facility (URF) to obtain your unique Participant Identification Code (PIC), if not already registered. The European Commission has produced a Participant Portal User Manual to help guide you through the process of registering on the portal.
- Use the GALE open courses registration form to register as an organization for various GALE courses. Please read part 2 of it carefully before submitting the form.
- Download the application form (so far drafts only): School staff mobility / Adult education staff mobility / Higher education staff mobility.
- (Support your management to) write an application. Again, as an organization you can apply for different courses and assign them to the several members of your organization. Use the information in the course descriptions, but please demonstrate in how the courses will build your organization capacity. Deadline is 17 March 2014, 12.00 C.E.T.
- Inform us as soon as possible after your grant acceptance or rejection.
GALE helps with your application
You can download and read carefully the guide for application. GALE helps you in three ways:
- In the course descriptions you will find sections on what you will learn and how it will build your organization's capacity. You can use these texts to fill in your application. But make sure that you specify how the general learning objectives will fit in your organization's capacity building.
- If you have problems filling in your application, give us a call at +31 20 428 8073 or mail us at m.schouten@gale.info.
- If you intend to apply for our courses for 10 participants or more, we are willing to travel to your office to personally help you to make the application. In this case, we could also consider to change dates and place of a course (but remember: the course should take place outside your own country).
