17 May 2017 - To celebrate IDAHO, GALE today published the new strategic guide for NGOs on how to engage with education and education systems. The key message of the guide is to create a cooperation between NGOs, the government and the education field itself. Because countries are in very different situations, the guide offers a rough situation analysis and broad suggestions for denying, ambiguous and supportive contexts.

GALE and LGBT Christians want cooperation with religious schools

27 May 2017 - GALE attended the annual conference of the European Forum of LGBT Christians in Gdansk (Poland) and facilitated a workshop on cooperation with religious schools. The differences in Europe turned out to great to agree on a joint strategy or project. Still, the workshop was one further step in creating European cooperation.

GALE protests against UNESCO youth forum in Saudi-Arabia

14 April 2017 - GALE has filed a protest at the NGO Liaison Committee of UNESCO for organizing a thematic forum on youth in Saudi Arabia. Recently, Saudi Arabian men were convicted to 450 lashes for "promoting the vice and practice of homosexuality". GALE says the choice of the UNESCO Committee for Riyadh as a location for a human right conference will silence a large proportion of the world youth population.

Two candidates elected for GALE Committee

9 April 2017 - Two of the nine candidates for the GALE Advisory Committee have been elected: Aditya Bondyopadhyay (India) and Eben Díaz (Nicaragua). The other candidates got less than 10 votes, which was the minimum set for election.
