Thomas Kugler
Thomas Kugler (Dipl.- Soz.paed.) works as freelance trainer and educational consultant at QUEERFORMAT Fachstelle Queere Bildung (www.queerformat.de), the Competence Centre LGBTI Education of the State of Berlin. He has been facilitating trainings and counselling in the areas of anti-discrimination, gender, diversity and sexual identity since 1990. He has been training teachers, educators, students, public authorities etc. focusing on awareness raising and challenging homophobia, transphobia, sexism and interphobia. In 2003 Thomas was trained to be a diversity-trainer by the European Jewish Information Centre and the Northern Irish Council for Ethnic Minorities. He has developed training concepts and tools questioning heteronormativity in educational settings. Since 2010 he is engaged in the implementation of the Berlin Parliament's Action Plan against Homophobia and Transphobia, mainly organising educational activities and publishing educational materials for schools, day care centres, Youth Welfare Offices and youth welfare service organisations.
