PUP on UNIBAM and Sodomy in Belize
The Belizean gay rights activist group UNIBAM has filed a motion challenging section 53 of the Belize Criminal Code, which criminalizes carnal intercourse against the order of nature with any person. The discussion on the issue has been ongoing and the church and other concerned citizens have been vocal about the attempt to remove the illegality of sodomy from our law books. We here at Plus TV have asked Prime Minister Hon. Dean Barrow for the government position on the matter to which he stated that they would be fighting to keep the laws on the books as is.
